ROCK SPRINGS – Spring cleaning is an annual event for many families and the city of Rock Springs is no stranger to it.
During board reports at the regular Rock Springs Council meeting, Rock Springs Councilwoman Glennise Wendorf reminded residents on the annual city wide cleanup. This year’s event will take place May 14.
Wendorf reported the orange trash bags, donated by the Wyoming Department of Transportation, and the free water can be picked up at the Rock Springs Chamber of Commerce anytime between now and the event.
In the past, organizers provided orange shirts for all those participating. Wendorf said this year they are asking those cleaning to dig out those old shirts for this year’s event.
As always, everyone who participates in cleaning will be treated to a free lunch at 1 p.m. Not only will residents be treated to food but also fun prizes will also be handed out this year.
After reminding residents about the cleanup, Wendorf also recognized LifeSkills, Able Hands and NowCap.
Due to budget constraints, departments are looking for any way to help. Wendorf said this summer, these three groups will be helping around downtown Rock Springs. She said the participants of these groups will be emptying the garbage cans this year. Wendorf also noted Able Hands will be helping with the planters in downtown Rock Springs this summer.
