Rock Springs’ Young, Fletcher Finish in Top 10 at State Golf Championships

JACKSON — The final golf action of the season took place at the 4A state golf championships in Jackson.

Rock Springs’ Sam Young and AJ Fletcher finished in the top 10 in the boys’ division.

Young tied for fourth place with Kelly Walsh’s Tanner Warren with a 163. On day one, he hit a 75 followed by an 88 on day two.

As for Fletcher, he finished eighth overall with a score of 166. He hit an 80 on day one and wrapped up the second day with an 86.

Peyton Jenkins, Luke St. Marie and Dawson Fantin were the other members of the Tigers’ golf team, helping the squad finish eighth overall with a team score of 724.

On the girls side, it was Hanmi Park coming out on top for the Lady Tigers, coming in 13th overall. Park hit a 184. Teammate Harley McPherson came in 15th with a score of 198.
