It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Rose “Ro” Marie Harper, who left us peacefully Thursday, April 2, 2026, at Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County. She was a 62 year resident of Rock Springs.
She lived a full and vibrant 97 years, having been born in St. Paul, Minnesota, to her parents, William Evans and Mayme Evans, on January 15, 1929.
Ro’s early years were spent in Mitchell, South Dakota, where she attended local schools and graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1946. Her pursuit of knowledge led her to Mitchell Jr. College, from which she graduated in 1948. She and her husband were the owners/operators of Emerald Auto Parts for 34 years and she worked until she retired in 2005. Throughout her life, Ro exemplified dedication and passion in every endeavor. A devoted family woman, Ro cherished every moment spent with her family.
She married Harry Jean Harper August 13, 1949 in Mitchell, South Dakota. He preceded her in death September 4, 2018.
She was a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Community.
Her life was enriched by her dedication to her faith and service to her church community. Ro enjoyed traveling, especially her camping adventures with her sisters. She was a strong advocate for Right To Life. Her warmth, grace, and unwavering spirit touched all who knew her.
She is survived by one son, Clif Harper and his wife, Sheri of Rock Springs; one daughter, Barbara Lee and her husband, Paul, of Monterey, California; one sister-in-law, Joan Holmes; two grandchildren, Russ and wife, Staci Harper of Rock Springs; Angi and her husband, Nathan Beauheim, of Loveland, Colorado; great-grandchildren: Devon Harper; Lexi Harper; Levi Beauheim; Ivy Beauheim; several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Jean Harper; parents, William and Mayme Evans, one son, William “Bill” Harper, one brother, Dick Evans; two sisters, Jean Marshall and husband Jack; Boo Hinker and husband Brad; three-brother-in-laws, Bob Lobsiger and wife Shirley; Joe Holmes; Charlie Powers.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 13, 2026 at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, 116 Broadway Street, Rock Springs, Wyoming. Graveside Services and Interment will be in the Rock Springs Municipal Cemetery. Friends may call at the church one hour prior to services.
