ROCK SPRINGS — Rock Springs High School recently announced the Valedictorian and the Salutatorian for the Class of 2020.
Makayla Kramer, daughter of Richard and Marlene Kramer, was named the Valedictorian. As for the Salutatorian, Hanna Crockett, daughter of Matt and Liz Crockett, received the honor.
Both young ladies will be attending the University of Wyoming in the fall on the Trustees’ Scholarship.
Makayla is a member of the National Honor Society, has been an All-State Band member all four years, and was selected for the All-Northwest Band. She served as a Drum Major for the RSHS Marching Band her senior year. She was a member of the Speech and Debate Team, serving as president her senior year, where she recently won the state championship in Lincoln-Douglas Debate and qualified in two events for the national tournament. She was also a member of Tigers for Literacy. Makayla has a 4.10 weighted GPA and scored a 35 on the ACT. She is undecided on her area of study at UW, but will be involved with the debate team as well as the music program.
Hanna was a member of the Speech and Debate team, serving as vice president her senior year. She ran cross country for two years both indoor and outdoor track for two years, where she received recognition as an All-State 4 X 800 runner. Hanna also received recognition for All-State art. She was a member of Tigers for Literacy and involved in the tutoring program. Hanna has a 4.2 weighted GPA and scored a 32 on the ACT. She plans to study physical therapy and minor in psychology at UW and will also be involved with the debate team.
