The 2021 spring sports season in Sweetwater County is just around the corner. With practices underway and game days approaching quickly, we’ve put together a preview for each team in Sweetwater County.
In preparation for the start of the season, we’ve gathered general information such as last year’s results, a few comments from the head coach and every team’s schedule.

COACH’S CORNER
Q: Let’s talk a little bit about last season. What has it been like being away for nearly two years due to COVID-19? What challenges do you think that has posed for your team?
Pyer: “It was hard on the players and the coaching staff not having a season last year. But once we were allowed to play again we started going to multiple offseason tournaments. It didn’t take long for the girls to get their touch back and we are just as strong as when we left off.”
Q: What are your initial thoughts about this upcoming season?
Pyer: “We have a very strong, fast and gifted team this season. We also have a deep bench that will come into the game and compete at a high level. Our team strength is in our numbers and technical ability. Almost all of these girls have played the game from a young age and have developed phenomenal technical skills. A weakness coming into this season would be learning a new formation and developing that into a state championship team. Takes time and multiple game-like scenarios.”
Q: How do you compare against the competition?
Pyer: “Based off of other teams returning starters and club games we will be in contention for the regional championship again.”
Q: Any other thoughts you’d like to include?
Pyer: “We are excited to be playing the game we love for our friends, family and community. GO TIGERS!”
