Freshman D’Andre Ricks was nominated as a Student of the Week by Miss Jessica DuPuis. Miss DuPuis said, “D’Andre was able to resist peer pressure when much of his class was misbehaving and disrespecting their substitute teacher. D’Andre was a leader by doing what he knew was right even when his regular classroom teacher was not there.”

Senior Megan Velez was nominated as a Student of the Week by Mr. Sterling Merrill. Mr. Merrill said, “Megan was an exceptional leader as we prepared for the musical play. She is serving as the Assistant Set Designer for the play, has been great at assigning tasks, and completing projects. I am extremely impressed with her dedication to helping students prepare portfolios for college scholarships. She is an amazing student and strong leader!”

Freshman Destiny Simmons was nominated as a Student of the Week by Mr. Noah Hopkins. Mr. Hopkins said, “Destiny jumped in to help me set up our 5th-period ClassCraft site. I didn’t even have to ask her for the help. She managed a great deal of difficult troubleshooting for me while I worked with a challenging class. It was really inspiring to see her so focused and it saved me a ton of time and stress.”

Sophomore Alyssa Vigil was nominated as a Student of the Week by Mr. Michael Thomas. Mr Thomas said, “Alyssa is very active in our school as she plays basketball and soccer. Alyssa is an honest person who always tries to do her best. Recently, Alyssa earned the highest grade on a test. Alyssa works extremely hard and makes those around her better. Alyssa is a great example for our school and our community.”

Senior Tayla Sewell was nominated as a Student of the Week by Mrs. Leesa Kuhlmann. Mrs. Kuhlmann said, “Tayla has been like a student director, and runs rehearsals when I have to go to IEPs and such. She also got together an octet for solo and ensemble festival and has scheduled their rehearsals, found the music, and taught it to them. She is very positive and keeps the students engaged.”
