RSHS’ Young Earns Second at 4A West Conference Golf Tournament

CASPER — The Rock Springs golf team participated in the 4A West Conference golf tournament on Monday and Tuesday.

On the boys side, Sam Young finished in second place out of all golfers with a score of 153. Young shot a 78 on Monday and stayed consistent with a 75 on Tuesday.

Kaleb Killpack had the next best score for the Tigers with a score of 164 followed by AJ Fletcher who tallied a 175 and Christian DeBernardi rounded out the boys team with a 176. Overall, the Tigers finished fourth in the team standings.

For DeBernardi and Killpack, it was their last time playing golf in orange and black. Killpack went out on top, scoring his best high school score of his career.

Both Young and Fletcher will play in the state golf tournament in Jackson.

On the girls side, the only Lady Tiger to compete was Glory Johnson who scored a 208. On Monday, Johnson swung a 100 and on Tuesday she put up a score of 108.
