ROCK SPRINGS — Chief Dwane Pacheco, members of the Rock Springs Police Department, and the Prevention Management Organization of Wyoming want to remind the public to remember proper gun storage and safety this holiday season.
With the holidays, come visiting family and friends, bringing children who may not normally be in your home and who are curiously searching for presents. It is important to remember and practice proper gun storage and safety with such little ones visiting.
Rock Springs Police Department and our local Prevention Management Organization of Wyoming are trying to bring more gun safety awareness to the Sweetwater area by participating in a nationwide program of Project Childsafe.
The program provides informational flyers to educate the public about dangerous situations and general firearm safety.
The program has also provided FREE gun locks to Sweetwater County residents who would use them.
To get your FREE gun lock, stop by the Prevention Management Office at 455 Broadway in Rock Springs during business hours M-F. Â
For additional information about the program check out their website.
Please keep your firearms safe and have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from the Rock Springs Police Department and the folks at Prevention Management Organization of Wyoming, Sweetwater County Office.
