Sage Elementary PTO President Natalie Powell asked us to announce the ‘Coins for Kara’ event to the community. The fundraising drive will benefit Kara Hauser, a former Sage Elementary School teacher, and mother of a current Sage student.
Natalie’s announcement follows:
Sage Elementary PTO is doing a “Coins for Kara” drive for a local mom who is battling cancer. Kara Hauser was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. She is a former teacher at Sage and has four kids, one of whom will start attending our school Monday.
We wanted to show our love and support to her and her family in a small way, and thought a coin/money drive to help with the staggering costs of treatment and travel would be a good way. We are asking for help getting the word out to community members as well. Each classroom will have jars to collect the coins and money, and the front office will have a large jar for parents or community members who would like to donate that way. Any amount helps!
(Side note of awesome community support – the UPS Store is printing our flyers in color for free for the cause. Our local community is awesome).
Thank you,
Natalie Powell
