GREEN RIVER — The Green River Wolves (GRHS) boys soccer team announced that Jorge Salcedo has been selected to take over the program.
Salcedo was an assistant coach in the program last season and will replace Kahler Dawson who was the GRHS Head Coach for the past two seasons.
Salcedo is from Cali, Colombia and graduated from Gimnasio Farallones High School in 2011. During high school, he played soccer for the Deportivo Cali Soccer Club as a striker.

From 2013 to 2017, Salcedo attended the University of Northwestern Ohio in Lima, Ohio where he played the striker position. His team at the University of Northwestern Ohio won two NAIA Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) Championships and qualified for the NAIA National Championships both those seasons. His team made it to the NAIA Quarterfinals at the National Championships in Delray Beach, Florida before they were eliminated. Salcedo earned his Bachelor of Science Degree at the University of Northwestern Ohio in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing.
Salcedo coached for the Global Premier Soccer Club in Yarmouth, Maine for one season in 2017-2018. He was also the Nashoba North Summer Sports Camps Athletic Director from 2017 to 2019 in Raymond, Maine. As the Athletic Director, he oversaw all sports camps and coordinated the summer sports programs.
Salcedo was also an Assistant Women’s College Soccer Coach at Heidelberg University in Tiffin, Ohio from 2018 to 2020. During his time as an assistant coach, he earned his Masters of Science Degree in Business Administration.
Last season, Coach Salcedo stepped in as an Assistant Coach for the boys soccer team.
