ROCK SPRINGS – Patty Michelson is the new Farson-Eden representative on the Sweetwater County School District No. 1 Board of Trustees.

Mitchelson is an educator living in Farson who works at Lincoln Middle School in Green River. She previously taught at Rock Springs Junior High and Farson-Eden School. The board unanimously selected her during its regular meeting Monday evening. A special meeting took place before the regular meeting started at 6 p.m. to give the board time to interview Mitchelson and former board member Andrea Summers prior to their vote. Mitchelson and Summers were the two candidates the board selected from.

Mitchelson said she’s excited to help move the district in a new direction, saying she’s still getting her feet wet in the new role and plans to support the district’s students and teachers.

“We’ve got great teachers in Sweetwater One and I want them to feel some support,” Mitchelson said.

Her term ends November 2028.
