Seedskadee Chapter Receives Donated Fly Rods from L.L. Bean

The Trout Unlimited Chapter plans to use the fly rods during its annual women's fishing trip next summer.

GREEN RIVER – DATE – The Seedskadee Chapter #533 of Trout Unlimited has received a donation of four Angler II fly rod outfits from L.L. Bean to teach fly fishing to youth in
Sweetwater County.

Volunteers from the chapter used the fly rods over the last weekend for the River Festival in Green River to teach children along with their parents how to cast.

In addition to this activity, the fly rods will be used during the chapter’s annual women’s fly
fishing clinic, Project Healing Waters float through Seedskadee National Wildlife Refuge and Take A Kid Fishing Day over Father’s Day weekend.

The fly rods were awarded as part of a donation program through the Trout Unlimited, one of the nation’s leading conservation nonprofits, for its more than 400 local chapters
and councils across the country.

A total of more than 400 fly rod outfits, valued at nearly $40,000 were donated by L.L.
Bean to Trout Unlimited and provided to chapters across the country to support their local efforts.

“We’re thrilled to be able to do more great work connecting kids and our entire community to fishing and conservation thanks to L.L. Bean,” said Sadie St.Clair, Seedskadee Chapter President.

“With this donation, we will be able to get more people out fishing the local rivers here in Green River OR Sweetwater County, which is often the first step in getting them to care about protecting the water quality and habitat that is vital to keeping these streams cold, clear and healthy.”

Based in Maine, L.L. Bean is a strong global supporter of conservation and has contributed over $10 million to help promote environmental stewardship and access to outdoor recreational opportunities.

Recently, the company has also agreed to contribute over $10,000 annually to promote youth fly fishing education in Maine.

For more than 20 years, L.L. Bean has been donating fly rods and reels to Trout Unlimited Chapters.

This year, more than 100 chapters applied to the program.
