
ROCK SPRINGS — Sharon McDowell, 57, of Rock Springs, Wyoming passed away on Tuesday, July 15, 2014 at her home following a long hard battle with Adrenal Cortical Carcinoma.
She was born on May 3, 1957 in Rock Springs, Wyoming, the daughter of Alfred Esquibel and Evangeline Muniz Esquibel.
Mrs. McDowell attended schools in Rock Springs, Wyoming and was a 1975 graduate of the Rock Springs High School.
She married Gene McDowell in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1988.
Mrs. McDowell was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Community, Americans with Disabilities and Team Sharon.
Being a mother and grandmother were most important to her and she liked to do crafts. Â She was a loving, caring person, touching the lives of everyone she met.
Survivors include her husband Gene McDowell of Rock Springs, Wyoming; two sons Brandon O’Malley of  and Mason McDowell of Rock Springs, Wyoming; two daughters Laice O’Malley and Mariah McDowell both of Rock Springs, Wyoming; four brothers Danny Esquibel and wife Sam of Rock Springs, Wyoming, Jerry Muniz of Palm Springs, California, Donald Muniz and wife Renee of Rock Springs, Wyoming and Eddie Muniz and wife Lorie of Belgrade, Montana; five sisters Patty Baker and husband Lorin of Cheyenne, Wyoming, Wanda Dach and husband Ed of Casper, Wyoming, Janet Stewart and husband James of Rock Springs, Wyoming, Debbie Kimsey and husband Clint of Rock Springs, Wyoming and Carla Wester and husband Shane of Highlands Ranch, Colorado; one granddaughter Brighton O’Malley; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Alfred Esquibel and Evangeline Muniz Esquibel; mother-in-law  Peggy McDowell; brother-in-law Don McDowell; grandparents Victoriano and Genoveva Muniz and Emilio and Libby Esquibel.
Following cremation, a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 22, 2014 at the Saints Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, 633 Bridger Avenue, Rock Springs, Wyoming.  A vigil service with rosary will be recited at 6:00 P.M. Monday at the church.  Friends may call one hour prior to the rosary and one hour prior to services.
Sharon requested that everyone wear bright and happy colors to her services in celebration of her life.
