SWEETWATER COUNTY — Sweetwater County is forecasted see 1-3 inches of snow starting later this afternoon, according to a Special Weather Statement issued by the United States National Weather Service (NWS) Riverton Office.
According to the NWS, light snow will develop late this afternoon around 4 pm and continue through Saturday, January 23, until 11 pm.
Sweetwater County residents can expect 1-3 inches of snow, however some areas such as Wamsutter and Bairoil could see 3-4 inches.
“There will be a lull in snow activity late tonight, before increasing again Saturday morning,” according to the statement.
Roads may be slippery due to the snow accumulations, the NWS stated.
Some parts of Sweetwater County are in a winter weather advisory. The snow is expected to bring with it cooler temperatures, however the county should see a high around 41 degrees today. For a complete forecast, click here.
