Southwest Wyoming Regional Airport Opens New General Aviation Facility Powered by Renewable Energy

ROCK SPRINGS– Southwest Wyoming Regional Airport officials will be holding a ribbon cutting to celebrate the opening of the new general aviation facility, which will be powered in part by a solar project provided by Rocky Mountain Power’s Blue Sky customers.

The event will showcase the new nearly $6 million facility, which includes a 30,000 square foot hangar and terminal complex that will support the airport’s General Aviation traffic and local industry for decades to come.

All members of the public and media are invited to attend this exciting moment for the future of our Airport.

Governor Matt Mead will make an appearance at the ceremony. Southwest Wyoming Regional Airport leaders will also be present, along with Rock Mountain Power officials.

When and Where

The ceremony will be Wednesday, July 18 from 4 to 4:30 pm. Tours of the facility and the solar farm will be available starting at 3 pm.
