ROCK SPRINGS – Although they do not have the final numbers, Rock Springs City Councilwoman Glennise Wendorf gave a little rundown of this past weekend’s city-wide cleanup.
During council and board reports, Wendorff gave a “sincere” thank you to everyone who participated in the event. She explained this year’s event was a little different as they dedicated the event to the memory of Kathy Walton. For the Westridge teacher, Walton took a lot of pride in the community and worked hard to keep White Mountain clean.
A group of volunteers focused on White Mountain in her honor on Saturday.
Also in attendance were several family members of Walton. Wendorf said the Boys and Girls Club, Troop and Pack 55, the Rock Springs High School Speech and Debate team and the Westridge PTO were all presented checks of $200 from Walton.
Rock Springs Mayor Carl Demshar challenged residents to take pride and keep it clean.
