STAR VALLEY – Only a couple more days until the groundbreaking for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Star Valley Wyoming Temple. It will be on Saturday, April 25th and will start at 2 p.m. Please bring your own chair and plan to be in your seat by 1:30 p.m.
Church officials are asking people to carpool as much as possible and if you live close enough to walk, please consider doing that. There will be parking available both on the north of the site and to the south. Please park in the area closest to your approach to the temple site. The ceremony will also be broadcast at the Tabernacle in Afton for those with special needs.
It is recommended that everyone wear church dress and plan for almost any kind of weather conditions. The Weather Channel is currently predicting rain on several days prior to the event with a 40 percent chance of rain during the groundbreaking ceremony with a high of 55 degrees. We will keep you posted.
The parking areas will be open starting at 10:30 a.m. that day. For the remainder of the day following the official groundbreaking, families will be permitted to “turn a shovel full of dirt” at the temple site and take pictures. It’s a unique and wonderful opportunity for everyone.
The Star Valley Wyoming Temple will be located at 885 South Washington Avenue (Hwy 89) where it intersects Skyview Lane. Everyone is welcome to attend.
