No. 1 Singles
Both Bethany Christensen of Rock Springs and Anna Ujvary of Green River were eliminated on Friday.
No. 2 Singles
After an opening round win, Lady Tiger Zoe Baldwin suffered a loss in the quarters. She remained alive on Friday defeating Cody’s Elisha Smith, 6-1 and 6-4.
Green River’s Alex Palmer was eliminated on Thursday.
No. 1 Doubles
The Green RIver team of Deverick and Leininger earned a first-round win but lost later on Thursday. The Lady Wolves remain alive defeated the team from East Friday, 6-1 and 6-2.
The Lady Tiger team of Bentley and Allen were eliminated.
No. 2 Doubles
The Lady Tiger team of Swedlund and Baldwin remain alive in the consolation bracket. On Friday, they eliminated the Green River team of Edwards and Scott in three, 4-6, 6-3, 6-0.
No. 3 Doubles
The Rock Springs team of Justinak and Vigil have a shot at the title as they moved into the semifinals on Friday. The Lady Tigers defeated the team from Cody in straight sets. They will face the team from Central for a spot in the finals.
The Green RIver team of Sharp and Cordova were eliminated.
Boys Results
No. 1 Singles
After opening round wins at the 2015 Wyoming State Tennis Tournament, Green River’s Jacob Lock and Rock Springs Tiger Tony Lew both suffered losses in the second round.
To start play on Friday, Lew faced Matt Paris of Kelly Walsh. Lock beat Paris in the opening round. Lew took control early and rolled to a win, 6-3 and 6-3.
Lock took on Sheridan’s Quinton Suska to open consolation play. In a strange coincidence, Lew beat Suska in the opening round of the tournament. Lock got off to a slow start losing the first set 6-1. He responded in the second with a strong 6-2 win. In the third and final set it was all Suska as he eliminated lock with a 6-0 win.
No. 2 Singles
After opening with a win on Thursday, Tiger Kelby Kramer lost in the second round Thursday evening. Kramer got back on track Friday as he remained alive in the consolation bracket with a straight-sets win Cheyenne East’s Javaun Garcia, 6-4 and 7-5.
Green River’s Andrew Halverson rebounded from an opening round loss to remain alive with a three-set win Thursday afternoon, 5-7, 6-3, 6-4. On Friday, Halverson was eliminated suffering a loss to Jackson’s Brooks Bradford, 6-3 and 6-3.
No. 1 Doubles
After sweeping the South Regional Tournament, the Green River doubles teams continued to play well. The Wolves team of Mikesell and Ebert moved into the semifinals on Friday win a win over Natrona, 6-4, 6-2. They will play Gillette for a spot in the state championship game.
After getting a win in the first round of the consolation bracket Thursday, the Rock Springs team of Wadsworth and Davidson were eliminated on Friday.
No. 2 Doubles
The teams from Rock Springs and Green River have both moved into the semifinals on Friday. They are on opposite sides of the bracket.
The Marchals of Green River moved into the semis with a straight-sets win over Powell, 6-3 and 6-3. They will face Cody for a spot in the finals.
The Tiger team of Rawson and Baldwin had a little bit more of a battle on Friday but came away with a win over the team from Jackson, 5-7, 6-3, 6-3. They will need to beat a tough Gillette team to move into the final match.
No. 3 Doubles
The third Wolves doubles team of Carollo and Lee will also have a shot at the title.They moved into the semifinals on Friday with a win over the team from Kelly Walsh, 6-2, 6-3. They will battle Cody for a spot in the championship.
After a first-round win, Searle and Prevedel of Rock Springs were defeated Thursday night. They are waiting to face Sheridan in the consolation bracket.
