WASHAKIE AND BIG HORN COUNTIES — The Terek Fire is now 85% contained.
Minimal fire activity occurred yesterday and full perimeter containment is expected Friday, July 13.
The fire has been mapped at 42,267 acres. This decrease in acres from yesterday is due to GPS information gathered by ground crews and helicopter operations used to more accurately map and define the fire area.
Resources started to demobilize on Thursday. However, some ground resources will remain on the scene to focus on mop-up operations and patrol. Some smoke may remain visible throughout the area.
Highway 31 between Manderson and Hyattville, Wyoming has been reopened.
