ROCK SPRINGS – Ron DeFauw and Darwin Anderson swam to titles on Saturday as the Rock Springs Tigers finished the 4A West Regional Swim meet in the third position.
The Tigers scored 235 points to finish in third place over the weekend. Kelly Walsh came in first with 378 followed by Green River with 313. Evanston and Natrona were a distant fourth and fifth.
Rock Springs had several strong finishes led by Anderson and DeFauw. Anderson brought home titles in the 100 and 200 freestyle races. His time of 1:47.65 in the 200 free set a new conference meet record. DeFauw finished first in the 500 free and the 200 IM. He also set a new conference meet record in the 500 free with a time of 5:08.63.
Several other Tigers just missed titles. Bryan Monzon finished second in the 200 free and third in the 100 free, Parker Newberg finished second in the 200 IM and third in the 500 free while James Spicer finished second in the 100 fly and third in the 100 back.
