ROCK SPRINGS– The Rock Springs High School Tigers swimming and diving team finished in eighth place at the Wyoming 4A State Championship meet in Laramie this weekend, with a team made up of only five swimmers.

The state meet last from Thursday through Saturday, February 15 through 17.

Senior Ron DeFauw took second in the 500 yard freestyle, and fourth in the 200 yard IM. Senior James Spicer took fifth in the 200 yard freestyle, and third in the 500 yard freestyle. Both DeFauw and Spicer earned All-State honors last year, and earned them again this year to finish out their careers at RSHS.

DeFauw holds the RSHS Pool Record in the 200 yard IM, 500 yard freestyle, and 400 yard freestyle relay. Spicer holds the RSHS Pool Record in the 100 yard butterfly and 400 yard freestyle relay. Both seniors also hold the RSHS School Record in the 400 yard freestyle relay.

Junior Anthony Erramouspe took 13th in the 500 yard freestyle.

RSHS finished in eighth in the 200 yard freestyle relay, ninth in the 400 yard freestyle relay, and tenth in the 200 yard medley relay.
