Tree of Sharing Organizers Thank Community For Support; 590 Kids Helped This Year

SWEETWATER COUNTY — With the help of over 100 private and business sponsors, cash donations from around the county, as well as countless families and businesses taking name tags off the trees, this year’s Tree of Sharing was a fantastic success!

The application process for the Tree of Sharing, which ended on November 21, received 590 children to be placed on trees or matched with individual sponsors. 14 trees were located throughout the community to accommodate for these names, with over a quarter of the children placed with individual sponsors before the trees were even placed.

This could have never taken place but for the excitement and support of our sponsors and community members. With their continued help next year, we are expecting to help even more children.

We would like to thank everyone who had a hand in the project: all of the sponsors, the volunteers, the staff of the Boys & Girls Club, and especially 1st Choice Ford, Staples, and the Rock Springs Chamber of Commerce for their generous support during this first year of operations by the Boys & Girls Club of Sweetwater County.

Again, with this support, the program was able to assist 590 kids this year and intend on more for the next!

Attached is a list of all the individual sponsors and/or benefactors to the 2014 Tree of Sharing. These companies, individuals, families, or organizations were either pre- matched with children to assist, or gave money to purchase items to give. This list does not, however, take into account the people who removed tags from the trees placed throughout the community, purchased items, and delivered them to the Boys & Girls Club for distribution. Although these people’s names were not collected, their assistance is also to be noted and thanked!
