The juvenile passenger in the Ford was flown by medical helicopter to Primary Children’s Hospital in Salt Lake City for injuries sustained in the crash.

The passenger in the Chevy has been identified as 64-year-old Naperville, Illinois, resident Nancy B. Jenkins. She was flown by medical helicopter to the University of Utah for injuries sustained in the crash.

The crash occurred when a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado pickup driven by Jenkins was traveling southbound and a Ford pickup was traveling northbound on US 191 between Rock Springs and Farson. The Chevrolet moved into the northbound lane and struck a 2008 Ford F-250 head on.

“There was no indication of driver input or braking from either vehicle before the collision,” the report states. “The Chevrolet came to rest, blocking the southbound lane, and sustained significant damage. The cab of the Ford was separated from the chassis, and it left the roadway to the east side of the road, where it came to rest.”

Driver fatigue on the part of Jenkins is being investigated as a possible contributing factor. The report indicates both parties were wearing seatbelts.
