Two Iowa Boys Located Saturday Evening

ROCK SPRINGS – The two Iowa boys abducted by their biological mother have been located according to a new release from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.

An official Amber Alert was issued late Friday night which made its way to Wyoming due to concerns the mother may be driving through Wyoming on her way to Oregon.

According to the release, detectives with the Polk County Sheriff’s Office made contact with Mary Purcell at approximately 4 p.m. Saturday afternoon. They met with the mother and the two boys, Landon Griffin, 12, and Morgan Griffin, 11, at Polk County Field Headquarters. The two children were unharmed and Purcell was taken into custody.

She was booked into the Polk County Jail at approximately 4:46 p.m. Saturday evening on a valid violation of a custodial order without incident.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office thanked the public for their assistance and tips provided during the search for the two boys.

The case is still under investigation.
