DANIEL — An accident on US 189 just south of Daniel claimed the life of a 26-year-old Big Piney man yesterday evening, according to the Wyoming Highway Patrol.
The two-vehicle accident occurred at milepost 123 around 9:18 p.m, according to the WHP report.
A 2014 Ford Escape was traveling southbound on the highway between Daniel and Big Piney when the vehicle crossed the center line and entered the northbound lane colliding with a 2009 Dodge Ram.
The driver of the Ford has been identified as 26-year-old Big Piney, resident Cory J. Sequera. Sequera was not wearing his seatbelt and succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the crash.
The driver of the Dodge has been identified as 22-year-old Pinedale, Wyoming resident Cassidy Jensen. Jensen was not wearing her seatbelt and transported to the Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County for injuries sustained in the crash
This is the 22nd fatality on Wyoming’s highways in 2019 compared to 12 in 2018, 10 in 2017, and 9 in 2016 to date.
