GREEN RIVER — Green River could see an 80-foot lattice type cellular tower go up on Uinta Drive if approved by the Green River City Council.
The Green River City Council will meet Tuesday, July 6, at 7 p.m. at Green River City Hall.
Union Telephone Company is requesting consideration for approval of a Special Use Permit for the construction of an 80-foot lattice type cellular tower to be located at 380 Uinta Drive.
Special Use Permit review and approval is required for the height and type of the proposed wireless structure, which was granted on June 9 with a 4-1-1 vote from the Green River Planning & Zoning Commission.
The wireless telecommunication facility proposes an 80-foot lattice style tower structure that will allow for collocation of up to three carriers, an 11×20 feet building to house electronics, an 8×12 feet building to house a backup generator (height of both will be 10 feet), and the facility will have a 6-foot wood fence around the edge of it.
The proposed property is zoned B-2 (Downtown Business District), which is described as “containing a
wide range of retail and commercial operations, including regional-scale business activities,” according to meeting documents. The property is surrounded by B-2 zoning districts except the northwest portion directly abuts an R-4 (Multi-Family Residential).
