GREEN RIVER – United Way of Southwest Wyoming’s 7th Annual Golf Tournament is set for Sept. 14 at Rolling Green Country Club in Green River. The tournament raises funds for Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in Southwest Wyoming. This four person scramble will begin with a shotgun start at 9am.
“Thanks to our players and sponsors, this tournament has been very successful in supporting our Imagination Library program,” said Kelly Frink, executive co-director at United Way, “We do have a few spaces for additional teams. So, come out, have fun and support a good cause.”
Team fees are $100 per player. This fee includes green fees, a cart, breakfast, lunch and a player bag. Prizes will be given to the top three placing teams as well as additional prizes for hole contests.
Through Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, children, birth to age 5, are mailed a free, age appropriate book every month. Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library supplies the books while United Way raises funds through special events and writing grants to cover the cost of shipping the books, which is about $35 a year, per child.
Currently, over 2,000 children in Southwest Wyoming are enrolled in Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library in Southwest Wyoming, and over 800 have graduated from the program.
