SWEETWATER COUNTY — Winter weather continues to disrupt spring sports schedules this week as Green River’s soccer matches at Jackson were canceled due to unsafe travel and playing conditions.

The decision came as road conditions to Jackson were reported as wet with slick spots and slush, while temperatures were expected to drop as low as 23 degrees. A winter weather advisory remains in effect until 6 p.m., making travel conditions unsuitable.

The cancellation adds to a growing list of weather-related disruptions across the county this week. In total, ten varsity soccer and softball games have been canceled, including all eight scheduled Green River and Rock Springs softball games earlier in the week.

At the time of publication, no official makeup date has been announced for the postponed soccer matches. However, the games are expected to be rescheduled for sometime next week. The Wolves are currently slated to host Natrona County and Kelly Walsh next Friday and Saturday, April 10 and 11.
