SWEETWATER COUNTY — There’s snow on the way and it should reach Sweetwater County by Thursday morning, according to the United States National Weather Service (NWS).
The NWS has issued a winter weather advisory for Sweetwater County, including Rock Springs, Green River and Flaming Gorge. The advisory runs from 5 a.m Thursday, December 8, through 5 a.m. Friday, December 9.
According to the NWS, the snow accumulations amounts are still up in the air as the storm makes its way into Sweetwater County. However they are not expecting Sweetwater County to receive more than 6 inches of snow.
“The heaviest snow is expected from midday Thursday through Thursday evening,” according to the advisory.

Travelers can expect slippery road conditions and areas of blowing snow as wind gusts may reach up to 35 mph. Visibility may also be decreased at times.
