Wolves Snap Four-Game Losing Streak Saturday

LARAMIE – The Green River Wolves rebounded from a loss Friday to end a four-game losing streak as they defeated Laramie Saturday, 60-49.

The Wolves finished with four in double figures led by Cameron Morris who finished with 15 points and eight rebounds on the night. Devin Love finished with 13 while Chase Stoeger finished with 11 points and also grabbed eight boards. Hunter Spartz rounded out the top scorers with 10 points in the game.

After a back-and-forth first half, the Wolves had a solid third quarter to get a little breathing room. Key buckets by Morris and Jake Angelovich gave the Wolves a nine-point lead after three. In the fourth, Morris hit a bucket and Spartz converted a three-point play to go up 12 with 4 minutes left in the game. Laramie battled back to seven with three minutes left but Love hit in the post and Stoeger hit two key free throws to put the Wolves up 57-47 with a minute left. Love added free throws late to ice the game.

After finishing their non-conference with a 5-4 record, the Wolves will open conference play against Evanston on Thursday. The Wolves will honor local veterans with Military Appreciation Night planned.
