GREEN RIVER — Thirteen high schools from around the state met in Green River for a track and field on Wednesday morning.
The meet was the first of the season for the Green River Wolves and Rock Springs Tigers, marking the first track and field competition in nearly two years for both schools.
On the girls side, RSHS’ Grace Nightingale saw two first place finishes in the 100 meter dash and 200 meter dash.

As for the Lady Wolves, Kaelea Gibson took home first place in the girls high jump, while Lillian Munoz saw a second place finish in the 300 meter hurdles and a third place finish in the 100 meter hurdles.
For the Rock Springs boys, Andrew Skorcz finished first in the 100 meter dash and 200 meter dash. Teammate Kamren Santhuff took first in the 400 meter dash and second in the 200 meter dash. The Tigers relay teams also performed well, finishing first in the 4×400 meter relay and 4×800 meter relay.
The Wolves saw good performances from Jacob Martinez and Hayden Roberts. Martinez finished third in discus while Roberts leaped into third place in the high jump.
