LARAMIE — The University of Wyoming soccer team will close its nonconference schedule Thursday when the Cowgirls travel to Colorado State for a 7 p.m. match at CSU Soccer Field in Fort Collins.

Wyoming, ranked No. 9 in the latest Pacific Region Coaches’ Poll, has won four consecutive matches and enters at 6-2-0. Colorado State is 1-5-1 but is coming off a 2-2 draw against unbeaten Big 12 opponent Kansas State.

“We are confident but not cocky,” Wyoming forward Kiley Ballek said. “We’ve had a good start to our season, and we are looking at finishing our non-conference on a good note to set us up for conference play. And with it being CSU, it’s a big game, so we are excited.”

Although Ballek has not scored this season, she has helped create opportunities for a Wyoming attack that has produced eight different goal scorers. That is already more than the number of Cowgirls who scored during the entire 2025 season.

Alyssa Glover leads Wyoming with four goals and three assists for 11 points. She ranks among the top three in program history in goals with 23, points with 58 and game-winning goals with 10.

Maddie Burr and Isabel Vasco have three goals apiece, while Alisa Bunn has two. Hadley Linder, Reese Gould, Erin Dahl and Brooke Brown have each scored once. The balanced attack has helped Wyoming outscore its opponents 17-7 overall and 10-1 in the second half.

Goalkeeper Haley Bartel has started all eight matches and has made 20 saves while allowing six goals for a 0.77 goals-against average. She has four shutouts this season and 22 for her career, three more than the second-highest total in program history.

Colorado State has allowed 10 goals this season, with goalkeeper Addison Huber starting all seven matches. Huber has made 22 saves and has a 1.43 goals-against average. The Rams are still looking for more production offensively. Ava Wallhead is the only Colorado State player with multiple goals, scoring twice, while four other players have scored once.

Thursday’s match marks the first time the rivalry will be played as a nonconference contest. Wyoming leads the all-time series 9-1-3, although Colorado State is 1-0-2 in the last three meetings. The teams played to a 3-3 draw last season in Laramie.

After Thursday’s match, Wyoming will begin Mountain West Conference play on the road. The Cowgirls travel to Nevada on Sept. 24 for a 7 p.m. match at Mackay Stadium.
