RELIANCE — A fire occurred Saturday night at 50 Reliance Road Space #30. A woman and two dogs were able to evacuate from the trailer in time.
Firefighters knocked the fire down soon after the arrival of the first engine and continued overhaul operations for about two and a half hours. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Although there were other structures threatened, firefighters were able to contain the fire to the building of origin with the exception of an additional shed that was very close to the building.
The firefighters of Sweetwater County Fire District #1 would like to remind the community to ensure there are working smoke alarms in their homes, in every room on every level. Additionally, they would like to remind citizens to consider safety whenever using heating appliances such as space heaters.
Special thanks for the law enforcement officers of the Sweetwater County Sheriff’s office and the Sweetwater Medics for their help throughout the incident.
