MOUNTAIN VIEW — A grass fire burnt 40 acres, a boat, a truck and hay just off Highway 411 and 410 in the Bridger Valley March 29.
Uinta County Fire Warden Eric Quinney said the fire started due to equipment malfunctioning during regular ranch operations. He said the fire spread quickly due to the high winds that weekend but, no one was hurt and no animals were lost due to the fire.
The Bridger Valley and Evanston Fire Department responded to the fire. Neighbors also helped fight the fire by offering manpower, equipment, and donations of food and water.
Quinney said that everyone needs to be mindful of the dry conditions expected this summer.
