SWEETWATER COUNTY – If you enjoy reading or if you want to start off 2015 by getting back into the habit of reading, the Sweetwater County Library System has a program for you.
The libraries are kicking off 2015 with “Reading is a Hoot!,” an Adult Winter Reading Program. Starting Jan. 5, adults interested in participating in the program can drop by Sweetwater County Library, 300 N. 1st East in Green River, Rock Springs Library, 400 C Street, or White Mountain Library, 2935 Sweetwater Drive in Rock Springs to sign up for the program.
Much like the libraries’ summer reading program, “Reading is a Hoot!” participants will track the books they read and turn in reading logs. Participants will turn in reading logs after completing five books and will receive a prize.
Each of the libraries will have a book-themed prize basket. With each completed log, participants will earn one entry into the prize basket of their choice at the libraries. The library in Green River will have a “Game of Thrones” basket, Rock Springs Library will have a “Longmire” basket, and White Mountain Library will have a Nicholas Sparks-themed basket. Participants can enter the drawing at any of the libraries, regardless of which library they signed up at.
“Reading is a Hoot!” runs through February 28. Prize basket winners will be notified on Monday, March 2.
“This program is a good way to start off 2015 – and it will help you meet your New Year’s resolution to read more,” said Lindsey Travis, public relations specialist for the library system.
This program is sponsored by the Sweetwater County Library System.
