ROCK SPRINGS — Austin Griffith, a senior at Rock Springs High School, won the department American Legion Auxiliary Oratorical Contest yesterday in Douglas. He adds that first-place-finish to his wins at the local and district contests. He will represent Wyoming in the national contest in Indianapolis in April, where he will vie for the top prize of a $20,000 scholarship.

The American Legion Oratorical Contest, now in its 79th year, gives high school students the opportunity to earn generous scholarships at all levels of competition by giving prepared oratories and assigned topic speeches on the United States Constitution and the duties of US citizens.
