Bitter Creek Watershed Meeting Set

SWEETWATER COUNTY — The Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) will hold a public kick–off meeting for the Bitter Creek Watershed E. coli and Chloride Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) project. The meeting will be Wednesday, May 20, 6-9 p.m. at the new County Health Building, 333 Broadway St. Rock Springs, WY 82901 (2nd floor, former Rock Springs National Bank Building on Broadway).

The purpose of the meeting will be to provide information on the Bitter Creek Watershed E. coli and Chloride TMDL project. A TMDL is defined as the amount of pollutant a stream can accept and still meet its designated uses. A TMDL assessment is required by the Clean Water Act when a waterbody is determined to not be meeting its assigned designated uses.

The meeting will include a presentation, followed by an opportunity to talk with DEQ and project representatives. You are invited to attend this meeting to assist in providing valuable information and input for the project.
