Burbot seminar set for Oct 15 at C Street Library in Rock Springs

GREEN RIVER- Wyoming Game and Fish Department Green River Fisheries Supervisor Robert Keith will speak about burbot (a.k.a. ling) management and recreational opportunities in southwest Wyoming at a free seminar at the C Street Library.

The free seminar will begin at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 15, at the C Street Library, 400 C Street, Rock Springs, in the Ferrero Room. Besides managing local fisheries, Keith is also an experienced angler and wild game cook, so participants can expect to learn about more than just burbot biology and management of this nonnative, invasive species. Besides burbot management, Keith will help participants learn how and where to fish for burbot-both open water and through the ice-how to filet burbot and Keith will share some burbot recipes, and also a short segment on the issue of mercury in local waters and what that means for burbot and other local fish species.
