A special centennial ranger talk titled Our National Parks will be held at the Quarry Visitor Center at 1:00 pm on Thursday, August 25. Following the presentation at 1:45 pm, birthday cake will be served.

Skies Over Dinosaur Astronomy Festival

From August 24-28, visitors are invited to see the stars from the Dinosaur National Monument with a number of presentations, programs and stargazing with telescopes. This event is great for kids as craft activities and Junior Night Explorer Books will also be available.

“This annual astronomy festival is one of our favorite local events,” Coltharp said. “It’s a great opportunity for visitors to use telescopes and see the night sky from a new perspective. For many people, this isn’t something you get to do very often.”
