Sweetwater County Clerk (4-year term)
Cindy Lane – R

Tell us a little about yourself.

Sweetwater County has been my home for the past 36 years. The first 10 years were spent in Green River before moving to Rock Springs.

Both communities have so much to offer young families, and having been born in Wyoming, my children and grandchildren benefited from the strong leadership of our local government and our exceptional education system. I, too, have benefited from Wyoming’s superior educational system by obtaining an Associate’s Degree from Western Wyoming Community College, and two Bachelor’s Degrees and a Master’s Degree from the University of Wyoming.

Through obtaining this education, it has allowed me the opportunity to grow my leadership skills not only by being a local business owner for the past 15 years, but also the skills necessary to represent Sweetwater County in many different areas.

As a resident of Sweetwater County, representing and serving as your County Clerk has been an incredible honor. My service to Sweetwater County includes having been involved in my children’s education through helping on Parent Teacher Student Organizations at every level of their educational journey, a Girl Scout leader, a member of the White Mountain Lion’s Club, serving as the Board Secretary and Treasurer of the Child Developmental Center, a Precinct Committeewoman the past six years, and serving on the Executive Board in the capacity as the former Secretary and the current treasurer of the Sweetwater County Republican Central Committee.

What do you see as the most important issues in your candidacy and how will you address them?

While there are many facets to the County Clerk’s office, election integrity and security remains one of the main concerns of our residents, and as such, will remain my top priority.

I have strengthened the security of our election equipment through adding cameras and other security measures to the areas that house our equipment, volunteered Sweetwater County to pilot the new state audit of elections and work diligently to add additional security measures that go above and beyond what is expected.

I will continue to move forward with streamlining the services the County Clerk’s office provides to the community. I have put into place policies that allow for consistency in providing our services and will continue to search out areas that need attention.

My office is always open for any questions or concerns you may have and I believe in open communication and transparency in everything I do. I will continue to work on efficiency in not only elections, but in all areas of the County Clerk’s office.
