Cowgirl Basketball Set to Begin Fall Drills on Monday

LARAMIE –  Head coach Joe Legerski and the University of Wyoming women’s basketball team have completed their preseason workouts and are set to begin regular-season practices for the 2016-17 season.  The Cowgirls’ first practice is slated for Monday afternoon and will continue on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday for the remainder of the week.

“The players have spent the last month with our Sports Performance staff and a limited amount of time on the court,” Legerski said.  “The start of practice marks the change from the weight room to the court.  We have several players with limited game experience and determining which players are ready to take on a major role will be the first task. October is an exciting time for players and staff alike.”

Wyoming returns four starters and 11 letterwinners from last season’s squad that went 13-16 overall and 6-1 in the Mountain West. In all, the squad consists of one senior, four juniors, seven sophomores and three freshmen.
