Demaret Named New GRHS Volleyball Coach

GREEN RIVER — Green River High School announced Thursday night the hiring of Jessica Demaret as the new head coach over the Lady Wolves volleyball program.

Demaret’s coaching career is extensive and includes one season as an Assistant Volleyball Coach at Iowa Central Community College in 2001-2002. She returned to Green River shortly after her college coaching experience where she has held multiple coaching positions over several years. Coach Demaret has taken on the positions of Lincoln Middle School Head Boys’ 7th Grade Basketball Coach, 8th Grade Volleyball Coach, GRHS Freshman Boys’ Basketball Coach, and GRHS Sophomore Volleyball Coach.

Coach Demaret served as the Green River High School Head Varsity Volleyball Coach from 2006 to 2008. During her tenure, she led the Wolves to a second place finish at the Western Regional Tournament as well as a fourth place finish at the state championships.

Demaret was an outstanding student-athlete who graduated from Green River High School in 1996. During her high school athletic career, she was selected as a three-time All-State basketball player and a three-time All-State Volleyball player. She also won the Wyoming high school state discus championship and was named the Wyoming Gatorade Basketball Player of the Year in 1996.

After high school, she went on to the University of Wyoming where she played two seasons of NCAA Division I volleyball. Jessica was also a member of Green River High School Basketball and Track and Field Teams who have been inducted into the Green River High School Hall- of-Fame.
