ROCK SPRINGS – Diabetes affects 25.8 million people in the United States. It is also estimated that 79 million American adults have prediabetes, a condition putting them at greater risk of developing diabetes.
“It’s time for a change,” said clinical dietitian Rachel Blundell from Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County. Blundell is leading the next nutrition series class at Rock Springs Library.
The class will be at 5:30 p.m. Oct. 15. Registration is required by noon on Oct. 14. Those interested in attending can drop by the library at 400 C Street or call 352-6667 to register.
“Come join us to talk about diabetes awareness and prevention,” Blundell said. “We’ll discuss the types of diabetes, risks, and lifestyle changes helpful in preventing this disease.” A healthy snack will be available to sample during this presentation.
