SWEETWATER COUNTY — Customers of FedEx Freight have been receiving text messages claiming they missed a delivery and asking them to enter a credit card number to pay a redelivery charge.
FedEx Freight Supervisor of Operations Jeff Spicher said the messages are part of a scam and urged customers not to provide their credit card information.
FedEx Ground and FedEx Express customers have also reported receiving similar calls.
The Rock Springs Police Department has been contacted by FedEx about the scam and advises anyone who receives a text message of this nature to contact the department.
Customers should be cautious of unsolicited messages requesting payment information related to a missed delivery.
