Fremont Therapy Group is proud to congratulate Jackie Clark, PT, DPT, SCS, CSCS on her most recent professional achievement of becoming a Sports Certified Specialist (SCS).
Jackie is the only physical therapist in Wyoming with this certification who is also residency trained in sports therapy.
The SCS specialty is the highest level a PT can reach in the sports setting for acute injury diagnosing and treating/rehabbing athletic patients. This certification, paired with her residency training and being a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS), makes Jackie one of the state’s most educated sports physical therapists.
The SCS Board Certification, which requires over 2,000 hours of related clinical practice and passing a rigorous examination process, is granted by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialists. Less than 1% of physical therapists in the US are Sports Certified Specialists.
As an SCS, Jackie is helping provide on-field coverage at practices and games with Green River high school sports. The SCS offers her training and the credentials to aid in on-field acute injuries. Being involved on this level allows Jackie to help bridge the gap from clinic to field for all athletes after an injury.
Studies have shown that therapists with the advanced clinical knowledge and skills to achieve board certification can achieve better outcomes for patients in their specialty. The SCS certification focuses on evidence-based acute and critical sports injury treatments and sports injury prevention and wellness.
Jackie’s year-long sports residency program was with Texas Health Sports Medicine and Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, TX, a division one school. This intensive program included specialty training, both in the clinic setting and on the field. She learned from experts about ACL reconstruction, concussion rehab, baseball-related injuries at the shoulder and elbow, and injuries related to football and volleyball, and basketball. Whether she’s working with a competitive athlete or a weekend warrior, she is well prepared to treat patients of any age with any sports-related injury and lead them through a personalized rehabilitation program.
By choosing Fremont Therapy Group and Rocky Mountain Sports & Physical therapy, patients can be seen by professionals who are continually adding tools to their toolbox and finding ways to help patients recover faster and fully. Jackie’s passion is seeking better ways to diagnose and treat her patients to return them to a level better than before their injury.
On behalf of the FTG & RMS teams, we extend our sincere congratulations to Jackie. We’re proud of her hard work, passion for her patients, and profession. We look forward to seeing our patients continue to benefit from her expertise!Kris Nelson, PT, MPT, CHT, Clinic Director and Partner.
