High Wind Warning Issued for Sweetwater County Today

SWEETWATER COUNTY — It’s time to hold on to your hats! A high wind warning issued by the United States National Weather Service (NWS), will extend through 9 tonight.

According to the NWS warning, the warning will go into effect from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, October 25. South to Southwest winds of 25-30 mph with gusts up to 60 mph are expected.

Sweetwater County, Green Mountains, Rattlesnake Range and Natrona County lower elevations are all listed in the warning. This will include portions of Interstate 80 and Interstate 25.

“Strong winds will enhance the blow-over risk for lightweight and high profile vehicles, including campers and tractor trailers,” the warning states.
