GREEN RIVER — Three workers at OCI were treated after being exposed to a hot water condensate leak. According to OCI Human Resources Manager Joel Burbank the three workers were isolating a valve when they were sprayed with hot water from the condensate pipe they were working on.
The workers were transported to Memorial Hospital of Sweetwater County and treated. One worker was released that night and is back at work today. The other two were sent on to Salt Lake City for further treatment, “Out of an abundance of caution, we wanted to make sure our guys got the best possible treatment,” Burbank said.
One of the two workers sent on to Salt Lake City was released today and the other is expected to be released tomorrow.
Burbank said that the condensate pipe the workers were working on allows steam to cool back into liquid water.
