Jailed Green River Councilman Facing Sealed Indictments

GREEN RIVER — The Sweetwater County Detention Center has confirmed that Green River Councilman Allan Wilson is being held there. Redacted court documents indicate that he is facing felony charges of sexual abuse.

In felony sex crime cases, the charges are sealed by law until the defendant is bound over to District Court.

Because Wilson has not been bound over yet his name does not appear on the official jail roster. The identity of the defendant was confirmed by the court through the prescribed process.

A redacted version of the charging documents indicates Wilson will be charged with first-degree sexual abuse of a minor and second-degree sexual abuse of a minor. The charges are the result of an investigation began by the Sweetwater County Sheriff’s Office.

The charges are filed in Lincoln County and Sweetwater County.

The charging documents from Lincoln County indicate that Wilson allegedly inflicted sexual intrusion on a person less than 18 years of age. The incident allegedly happened between April 29 and September 1 of 2011.

The charging documents out of Sweetwater County indicate that Wilson allegedly engaged in sexual conduct with a person under the age of 13. This incident allegedly occurred between late spring and summer of 2013.

Wilson’s initial appearance is scheduled for January 23, at 10 am. He will appear in Rock Springs Circuit Court.
