ROCK SPRINGS – In a Tuesday night conference battle at home, the Rock Springs Lady Tigers slipped as they suffered the first conference loss to Riverton in three straight sets.
The Lady TIgers entered the Riverton match with a 6-7 overall including a 1-0 record in conference with a win over Green River. Riverton entered play with a 6-8 record including two conference losses to Kelly Walsh and Natrona.
RIverton came out strong and rolled over Rock Springs in the first set, 25-11. The Lady Tigers came back strong in the second and pushed it right to the end but came up just short, 25-23.
Not the type of team to give up so easily, Rock Springs again competed in the third set as they tried to extend the match. The ladies dropped several crucial points which allowed Riverton to get the 25-21 win in the third for the straight sets win.
Rock Springs will be at home again on Friday as they face Kelly Walsh in another conference battle. On Saturday, the Lady Tigers will be on the road at Natrona for an afternoon conference match.
