GREEN RIVER – A long season is coming to a close and the Green River Lady Wolves are finishing strong. The ladies finished the 4A West Regional Outdoor Track and Field in the fourth position.
Green River scored 87.50 which put the ladies in the fourth spot overall. Natrona took the 4A West title with 251 points. Rock Springs finished second with 115 followed by Kelly Walsh in third with 91. Evanston finished in the fifth spot with 83.50 and Riverton finished in sixth.
After finishing second in the 800 meters on Friday, Josie Givens lined up in the 1600 hunting a title. Givens crossed the line in the silver-medal position with a time of 5:29. She trailed Molly Olsen of Natrona who posted a time of 5:26.53. After winning the 3200 title on Friday, Kaisa Arnell took fourth in the 1600.
The 2015-2016 regional shot put champ Emily White returned to action on Saturday. White’s discus throw of 120-08.00 put her in the third position overall. Natrona’s Kristy Dick took the title with a throw of 122-10.00.
In the 100 meters, Andri Dewey ran a 13.04 in the finals to bring home fifth. Dewey also qualified for the 200-meter finals. On Saturday, she ran a 27.09 to cross the line in sixth. Andri was not done there. She also lined up in the 400 finals. She would post her highest finish, crossing in the fourth spot.
Eliza Morin qualified for both hurdle finals. Her highest finish was fourth in the 300 hurdles. She finished seventh in the 100 hurdles. Erika Wilson was right behind in the 100 crossing in eighth.
In Saturday’s relays, Green River had solid finishes. The 4×400 team of Andri Dewey Hayley Henderson, Eliza Morin and Erika Wilson crossed the line in third with a 4:16.13. The 4×800 team of Kaisa Arnell, Josie Givens, Kiersten Plott and Cassie Newcomb came home in fifth.
